SERVER HARDWARE

The most important aspect of a hosting company is the hardware which the service runs on; Servers used have a large effect on hosting reliability and performance. All our severs come from top companies such as Dell and IBM this enables us to have maximum reliability and performance.

***SERVERS UPGRADED TO QUAD AMD OPTERONS***

We have now completed installation of our new Supermicro Super Servers that replace all our existing servers. The biggest change to the servers is the processing power which has jumped from a single Pentium 4 to quad AMD Opterons which is about 5 times the power! We have also upgraded from 3GB RAM to 8GB which can be expanded to 32GB as needed. Hard disk space has been upgraded from 200GB raid 10 to 1400GB raid 10.

Below is an example specification from one of our servers
Quad AMD Opterons The AMD Opteron processor provides a highly scalable architecture that delivers next-generation performance as well as a flexible upgrade path from 32- to 64-bit computing.
8GB DDR RAM - This is the memory of the system where web pages and scripts are stored when being used. With a server, a large amount of memory is needed. We use DDR memory for maximum speed to make the system run as fast as possible.
RAID 10 Disk Arrays - We use Serial ATA RAID 10 disk arrays to protect your data against hard disk failures, and allows us to offer our users generous web space allowances. RAID 10 gives amazing performance making the server run smoothly and your sites run as fast as possible.
Dual Gigabit (1000Mbit) network cards - Having Gigabit network cards is a feature not seen on many servers, and is used by us to allow maximum data transfer for amazing performance.

All our servers are loaded at 60% or below in order to maintain network performance. As once loading reaches 80%- 100% system performance can fall dramatically.
